Coke Wave 3.5: Narcos marks a long‑anticipated return for French Montana and Max B, arriving over 15 years after their original Coke Wave era and shortly after Max B’s release from prison in late 2025. This 22‑track mixtape blends nostalgia with modern hip‑hop sensibilities, aiming to recapture the signature “wavy” vibe that defined the duo’s early chemistry while introducing new influences and production voices.

From the opening bars of “Make America Wavy Again (MAWA)” to the disco‑infused bounce of “Ever Since U Left Me,” the project flexes between classic street rap, lifestyle braggadocio, and eclectic sampling that evokes both old‑school and contemporary sounds. Producers like Metro Boomin and Harry Fraud give the album a polished feel that sometimes works (notably on “Metro Wave” and “Bulletproof Maybach”) and sometimes feels over‑crafted, contributing to an inconsistent flow across its long runtime.

French Montana sounds rejuvenated throughout, his seasoned delivery offering a melodic counterpoint to Max B’s grittier, raspier presence — though some listeners feel Max’s vocal performance can be uneven, especially when over‑produced.  Standout tracks like “Whippin That Wave” and “Sunday School” showcase their symbiotic energy and remind fans why their chemistry mattered, while other songs bog down under filler and mismatched beats.

Fan reception mirrors critical response: some praise the reunion and fresh production, while others find the album bloated and lacking sharp focus.  Coke Wave 3.5: Narcos isn’t flawless, but it succeeds as a celebratory milestone in both artists’ careers, balancing homage to their legacy with glimpses of evolution.
