DJ Narciso’s DENTRO DE MIM feels like a midnight excavation of memories — dusty, half-lit, and oddly hypnotic. Released on SVBKVLT in early December 2025, the EP collects seven original pieces plus two notable remixes, and it’s a compact yet restless statement from a producer steeped in Lisbon’s batida/tarraxo lineage. The record’s architecture is claustrophobic in a thrilling way: tight arrangements, slow plods and sudden mechanical jolts give the tracks a cinematic underside that rewards repeated listens.

Opening cut “Segredo” sets the tone with a seismic low kick and austere percussive detail — it’s one of the record’s most successful moments because Narciso leaves space for atmosphere to breathe. “Terrugem” continues that haunted carousel mood, its metallic percussion and reverb-soaked touches suggesting a dancefloor in ruins. By contrast, “Pressão” leans toward abrasive industrial club textures; some reviewers find it stubbornly static, but the track’s tension works as a deliberate foil to the EP’s more pliant moments.

Where the EP truly gleams is in its willingness to flirt with other forms — the brisk techno snap of “Agancha” and the mecha-tinged churn of “Pesadelos” point to Narciso’s curiosity about fusing batida with darker techno strains. Remixes by Swimful and Kop-Z reframe those ideas: Swimful’s take smartly plays with space and pacing, while Kop-Z’s edit stretches the club potential of the source material. These reworks underline how Narciso’s concepts can blossom when given different structural approaches.

At roughly 34 minutes, DENTRO DE MIM doesn’t always fully realize every experiment, but its cohesive mood, sharp sound design, and clear sense of personality make it an exciting next step for a rising voice from RS Produções. For listeners into shadowy, intellectual club music that still remembers the body, this EP is worth diving into — just don’t expect easy answers.
